Falafel Heaven
I can?t believe how quickly the days go by here. It feels like I just got here yesterday, but it?s already been three weeks! The weekend went by especially fast. Nothing too exciting to speak of on Saturday ? just a trip to the laverie (where two load of laundry cost 17 USD! yikes!) and a rainy day spent catching up on some school work.
Sunday was a different story. I woke up at the crack of dawn (finally getting back into my old groove), did a little bit of reading, bundled up, and headed to the Bastille area of town to visit the Marché d?Aligre again with a friend. After surviving the crowds, we made our way over to le Marais, fresh produce and ferocious appetites in tow.
I read about L?As du Falafel (34, rue des Rosiers; Metro: St-Paul) online in various places and knew today would be a good day to try it out. We had been planning a trip to this area on Sunday all week (really the only area of the city that is open on Sunday?s). We knew we were in the right place when we saw a long line of people and were overcome with the smell of something delicious cooking. Were were in falafel heaven. Best 15 minutes and 5 euro ever spent. We enjoyed every bite!
First real weekend in Paris: SUCCESS!
Oh ? and thanks to everyone for your suggestions about my camera troubles! Hoping to go bat my eyelashes and fake French at a camera repair shop today or tomorrow related searches : Falafel
