Farmer's Market Bust

By Basic Eating: Food Defined, Not Refined. (Visit website)

So much for best intentions.  My week of explorations of the local farmers market scene came up pretty much a bust.  This is due to the one flaw in the otherwise excellent farmers market system: heat.  Humid, moist, muggy, cloying, oppressive heat.  The kind of heat that makes fresh veggies happy in their earthen beds makes me a soggy mess.  The idea of slogging it by bike to various markets in the midsummer sweatiness of the city last week was just a bit too much.

My heart goes out to the brave farmers manning the booths!  I promise I will try to make it to your markets soon!

Meanwhile I've just finished working the fourth weekend of an eight week series and I don't get paid anything close to a professional athlete.  So I may or may not get more posts out this week, despite more good intentions.
