French Toast for a Treat!
Yes you have arrived at Roses R Red....It's just that my blog has had a bit of a makeover! Ive been wanting a new background for a while, and recently have spent hours...and hours searching for the perfect one...and i've finally found it! What do you think?
Anyhow, for those of you who don't eat eggs, or just want to try something new, I would reccommend this recipie! Its tasty, perfect for breakfast (or brunch), really filling, AND you would never guess tofu is an ingredient when tasting it. I made this for my boyfriend last weekend for breakfast in bed. I topped it with maple syrup, cinammon and sliced banana YUM! The recipe is from the Easy Vegan Cooking cookbook. Tofu French Toast 140g (1 1/2 C) soft or medium tofu 230ml (1 C) water 4 Tblespn vegetable oil Pinch sea salt 1 Teaspoon vanilla essence 3-4 teaspoons raw cane sugar 8 slices wholeweat bread Margarine for frying - Put the tofu, water, oil, salt, vanilla and sugar in a liquidizer and blend thoroughly. Pour the mixture into a shallow bowl, and dip the slices of bread in it. - Heat a little margarine in a frying pan, and fry the bread over a moderate heat until browned on both sides. I will leave you with this photo of our pretty camelia plant which has just started to bloom. You can't see the colour too well, but its white with baby pink edges, so pretty. related searches : French
