Jamies Italian

By Food And Passion (Visit website)

The family decided to have a pre-birthday dinner for my daughter’s 3rd birthday celebration since we opted not to throw her a big soiree this year.  We didn’t have any resto in mind beforehand, so we just went to DFC and see where our footsteps would lead us.

We initially sat in this French restaurant (whose name i forgot already), however, we got turned off because the menu is so limited- and when i say limited- its only one.  Yep, whatever the chef has prepared for the night, that’s all you can order. Talk about total authoritarian.  Can’t blame though as that is the real gimik of the place, and its apparently based on the original french dining place.  Well, whatever!

Anyways, good thing we left the place because we found out that Jamie Oliver’s Italian Restaurant has finally opened (after months of waiting).  We weren’t at all aware that they have opened already considering we’ve been waiting since november.   And as they say, all’s well that ends well. It was a real good experience, and contrary to what we expected-  the good food is indeed good value for money.  From starters till dessert, everyone was impressed, including the celebrant herself who enjoyed her kiddie pasta down to the last bite.

Check out these yummy dishes that we have ordered

Prawn Linguine (Pan-fried garlicky prawns with tomatoes, chili, rocket and fennel tossed with linguine)

Pappardelle & Meatballs (Flat pappardelle pasta, beautiful lamb meatballs and silky tomato and basil sauce)

Grilled Salmon Steak (Wood fried salmon served on a beautiful roman style stew with roasted lemon, aioli and pea shoots)

Wild Truffle Tagliatelle (Finely shaved wild black truffles tossed with butter, parmesan and nutmeg)

Fish in a Bag (Local fish of the day baked with clams, mussels, fennerl, potatoes, lemon, herbs and baby tomatoes)

And for dessert we got:

Bakewell Tart

Ultimate Brownie (similar to Molten Chocolate Lava, but yummier :) )

Lemon Curd

Cream Ricotta Cheesecake

I think we only spent around $250 for all these.  Not bad ayt?
