Key Lime Pie Magic Cookie Bars {New Spin on the Magic Cookie Bars}
Easter is just around the corner and I have had this recipe for Key Lime Pie Magic Bars well before Christmas and never got to make them. If you are familiar with the Magic Cookie Bars, then you will recognize that this is just a new spin on them. For the fokes out there who are allergic to chocolate or not a fan {yikes} of chocolate then you are going to love these. This recipe is very similar to the Magic Cookie Bars in that you assemble the layers with the ingredients, but with this one, you use white chocolate instead of semi-sweet and key lime juice added to the condensed milk to give it that wonderful tart flavor. Key Lime Pie Magic Cookie Bars slightly adapted from Modern Comfort Food 1/2 cup butter (1 stick) 1 1/2 cups plain graham cracker crumbs (8 graham crackers, finely crushed) 1 1/4-1 1/2 cup sweetened, flaked coconut 12 oz. pkg white chocolate morsels 1 cup sliced almonds 1 14-ounce can of sweetened condensed (not evaporated) milk 2 tablespoons water 1/2 cup fresh or bottled key lime juice Preheat oven to 350 degrees F or 325 degrees F if you?re using a glass baking dish. Melt butter in a small bowl in the microwave on high for 30 seconds. Combine graham cracker crumbs with the melted butter and place the mixture into a 9? x 12? baking dish, patting the crumb mixture down evenly with your hands. Layer the white chocolate chips, coconut, and nuts on top of the graham cracker mix. In a small bowl mix the condensed milk, lime juice and water and immediately pour the mixture evenly over the other goodies in your baking dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is light brown. Let cool completely before cutting into bars. related searches : Key
