Leap of Faith

By This Winding Road (Visit website)

**Corny post AHEAD (just a warning)***

Went to see Leap Year on a whim with some friends this afternoon. If you?ve seen the previews, you probably know that this is your predictable, mushy romantic comedy. It was cute though, as was the guy in it.

I won?t give anything away, but I wanted to share with you my favorite line from the movie:

?Do you want to not make plans with me??

Hearing things like this really strikes me because if there is one thing I still struggle with in my life, it is planning. I still depend a lot on things like routine and structure. And when I cannot gain my bearings so to speak, I am completely terrified.

Even though they are far from reality, mushy little movies like Leap Year help me to realize that there is life beyond my little bubble. A whole world, in fact.

Day by day, I do take little ?leaps? that bring me closer to being a girl who can be spontaneous when the situation calls for it. I like to think of it as taking leaps of faith, because I have to trust myself that the world will not crumble.

And it is true that there are many good things about having routine and structure, I think the key is knowing where to draw the line. And that?s what I am learning.

Just like there is a balance to be found when it comes to eating and exercise, there is a balance to be found between living and planning.

Before going to the movie, I had been at the gym where I did some different moves to work the same muscle groups as usual. And wow! As I tweeted, I could barely lift my water bottle when I left.

Good workout I think? I was not too spent for Whittling My Middle.

I knew I needed a major power snack after all that if I was going to make it through a movie:

Oikos, Kashi H2H, PB blob

While I did fix dinner immediately upon getting home 2 hours later, that was a GREAT snack idea if I do say so ;)

Ah! I just realized this is my last week of vacation! So sad, but I?m ready to get my last semester of college started!

Goodnight folks!
