LED Lights for Your Teeth
Nick Bilton from the New York Times spillsabout the new Japanese fashion trend? people wearing the glowing LED smiles. The new fashion accessorieswere originally created as an experiment by two Japanese designersand are now being used in a commercial advertising a winter sale at a Japaneseclothing store, Laforet Harajuku. They are quickly becoming a sought afteraccessory. The LED smiles can easily be affixed to your teeth andglow different colors while you smile. The colors can be changed wirelesslythrough a computer interface. Of course they work best in the dark. Motoi Ishibashi, one of the designers involvedin the project, explained in a blog post that the original idea forthe LED smiles came after he saw a video last year of LED Throwies, which arelittle lights that can be affixed to a magnet and thrown on metal surfaces. They are like lighted graffiti. Mr. Ishibashi and Daito Manabe, the otherdesigner and technologist on the project, are offering workshops inJapan showing people how to build their own LED smiles. The video below, whichwas created by the designers and titled ?party in your mouth,? shows a curatedgroup of Japanese schoolgirls wandering the street wearing the glowing lights. How?d you like some LED lights for your teeth? Via New York Times.
