Not Quite a Royal Affair

By Kitchen 37B (Visit website)

Daniela and I decided to go for a walk today. We've been cooped up for three days now like little squirrels hiding in the nests away from the winter cold. Well really, if it were up to me, I'd be happy to have spent the long weekend indoors. But Miquela was fast asleep, and Daniela was getting restless. So I asked her if she wanted to go down to the mall. *That's a great idea, Mom* I am so cool! *grin*

So we geared up for the cold - hats, gloves, scarves, thermals - the works! And like a little Mommy & Child duo, we braved the cold and headed down to the mall. What are we going to do at the mall, I asked. *Umm, walk around!* My little girl is so smart!

Going to the mall and not spending is impossible. My weak shopping will does not go well with my uncooperative wallet. We walked into a shop and almost immediately, Daniela saw something she wanted. *Mommy, I don't want that baby.* As of late, she has been an expert at subliminal messaging. I have been the guinea pig of her recent experiments. And so like a good lab rat, I said: Sure you do! Lucky for me, today being the Queen's birthday (and almost more importantly a long weekend!) there was a SALE tag on most items in the mall. Happy Birthday!! The Queen has given my little Daniela a $6 baby doll and bottle and Miquela a $9 pack of 12 bibs. Hear! Hear!

Ok, so we didn't get invited to the Queen's birthday party. Not quite a royal affair... but that didn't stop us from having our cake and then eating it too!

Birthdays are happy as long as they're not mine. Heehee. I tend to hide when it's my birthday. Not that I'm ashamed of my age or anything like that. No. I think I shy away from the attention. I'm a terrible birthday celebrant. I'm sure the Queen is more graceful and receptive of birthday celebrations.

My little princess loved what she had tagged as an Ice Cream Cake.

My also little princess couldn't care less. She's got it made in her throne!
