Pasta with Turkey and Tomato Sauce - Dreamfields Pasta Review
It seems to be the month for Italian food! Recently I reviewed a pasta sauce and I?ve got an Italian cookbook sitting on my desk waiting for review! Recently Dreamfields Pasta contacted me and asked me if I would be interested in trying their pasta. It?s a unique pasta that has only 65 grams of digestible carbohydrates, making it a good option for diabetics who need to watch their blood sugar.
The pasta is made primarily from durum wheat semolina, which is also used in other premium pastas. It is manufactured in such as way that they create a matrix in the pasta, protecting most of the carbohydrates from being digested. It?s also high in fiber, which can help promote healthy digestion. I know, I know, it sounds a little weird. I was a little skeptical myself. But it tastes really good! It will satisfy all your pasta eaters, so it?s great for families where maybe not everyone needs to be watching their blood sugar. I was sent a box of Penne Rigate. I made the pasta for a quick dinner. I made a pasta with turkey and a jarred sauce. Even Scott had to agree that he didn?t really notice a difference between the pasta we usually eat and the Dreamfields Pasta. It had a nice bite to it and a good flavor. The ridges in the pasta helped hold the sauce. I thought it was delicious. You could use it with any variety of sauce or even just a drizzle of olive oil. If you?d like to try it yourself, you can download a $1 coupon from the Dreamfields Pasta website when you sign up for their email newsletter. Here?s how I used it: Pasta with Turkey and Tomato Sauce 1 box Dreamfields Penne Rigate 1/2 lb. lean ground turkey 1 jar of your favorite pasta sauce Herbs and spices to taste (I added basil and oregano) Olive oil Parmesan cheese Boil water for the pasta and cook according to package directions (the penne took 10 minutes). While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a frying pan. Brown the ground turkeyl Add in your pasta sauce and season with additional herbs and spices, if desired. Top with grated Parmesan. When pasta is finished, drain and mix with sauce! related searches : Pasta
