Quark (Soft) Cheese Pie
This pie is very easy to make, if you have a pie shell or a frozen pie dough ball. It can also be low on fat and sugar, if you use low-fat cheese. You’ll need: 1 pie shell, 1 quark (or any soft spreadable) cheese, 3 eggs, honey, and saffron (optional). Instructions: Place pie shell in an oven-proof dish. Mix Quark cheese with the eggs (you can also use only egg whites if you want zero cholesterol) and honey. Use as much honey as you need to sweeten the cheese (taste to see if it’s sweet enough for you). If using saffron, make sure you dissolve it in a bit of hot water for 20 minutes before incorporating it into the cheese mix. Scoop the mixture into the pie shell. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until done.
