School Day Numero Dos

By Blog of Shannon (Visit website)

Another mid day posting since I have class tonight.  I started my day with 40 minutes of Jillian Michaels' Yoga Meltdown.  It was on Exercise TV.  I've done it once before and really liked it.  I was dripping in sweat by the time I finished.  I've never tried any other Jillian Michaels' exercises (30 Day Shred, No More Trouble Zones, etc.) and I've never really gotten into the Biggest Loser.  But, I can say that she isn't extremely-hardcore, make-you-wanna-throw-a-shoe-at-the-TV like she appears to be in the Biggest Loser.  It is yoga, afterall.  Namaste.  However, after 15 seconds in dolphin pose, I was on the verge of giving her a piece of my mind.  Alas, I made it through.  Then, I ate.

Ezekiel sprouted grain bread1 tbsp Naturally More peanut butterBanana
After I slaved away at work all morning, I came home and made a mish-mosh lunch.  I had the whole grab-anything-you-can-find-in-the-fridge mentality and came out with this:
~1/2 cup quinoa
1/3 cup pinto beans
Grape tomatoes
Olives
1/4 avacado
Red onion
Green bell pepper
Heaping tbsp of Oikos plain greek yogurt
Strawberries
I also added some red pepper flakes after I snapped the picture.  For a mish-mosh, it was pretty darn tasty.  If you can't tell, I normally place my food on my kitchen sink window sill.  I know zilch about photography, but I do know that natural light is better than using the flash.  As I was snapping a few pictures of lunch, the dogs (who I always forget are outside) were quite curious as to what I was doing (instead of letting them back inside).
It's a good thing I saw them because I probably would have started eating my lunch without letting them back inside.  Not that that has ever happened before...  Don't tell Thad.  It actually happens almost every day.  I'll sit down to savor my lunch when all of a sudden, Trixie starts yelping incessantly.  At what?  I don't know.  Probably a squirrel or to demand I let her back inside.  We have a very interesting relationship, me and those two dogs (they belong to Thad...soley).  That's probably a whole different post though.

My packed snack that I will be consuming on the loooong drive on I-10.
Speaking of driving on I-10, the most valuable piece of information I have learned while going to UNF to get my MBA has nothing to do with business.  The golden nugget of knowledge?  Don't speed on I-10.  That's all I'm going to say about that...  Well, I guess I should add that if you do speed and receive one speeding ticket (this is all hypothetical), slow down or else you might receive another ticket the following week (again, all hypothetical).  Cruise controlling right along...

DINNER!  Pretty much an exact repeat of Monday's night wrap + veggies.
Whole wheat wrap
Southwestern spicy mustard
Groud turkey
Banana & jalapeno peppers
Carrots
Cucumber slices
Broccolli
Grape tomatoes
Green pepper slices
All packed in my Vera lunch dinner box:
Just a side note: that water bottle goes everywhere with me on weekdays.  It's like my safety blanket.  I was in a meeting in Gainesville recently and one of my co-workers asked me where my water bottle was because she didn't see it.  I guess people just think of me as the girl with the water bottle...  I do wash it, I really do.

Depending on what time I get home and if I'm still hungry, I might munch on something else.  I'll take a picture for accountability's sake if I do.  My class is in a small, dimly lit auditorium.  My professor wrote on the blackboard Monday night and I had to squint to see what he wrote.  I'm not sure if it was the distance and bad lighting or if my eyes are going bad!  Needless to say, tonight I'm taking my glasses :/
