Shahi Paneer
Hi,
All of us must have tasted this curry in India in celebrations or parties. This curry has paneer in rich cashew sauce. It is very delicious and has some sweet taste. Although I like it in non sweet form. It taste awesome with nan or tandoori rotis. Give it a try :) Serves 4 Preparation time 40 minutes Ingredients: 250 gms fresh Paneer cut in triangles 1/2 cup almonds 1/2 cup cashews 1 cup whole milk 1/2 tsp garam masala powder 1 tsp coriander powder 2-3 bay leaves 1/4 inch cinnamon stick 2 cloves 1/2 tsp red chili powder 1 onion chopped 1 tsp ginger garlic paste Salt to taste Method: Soak the almonds in a cup of water for 10 minutes. Peel and keep aside. Take cashews , peeled almonds and milk in a grinder and make a smooth paste. In a pan, take 1 tbsp of oil and fry the onions. Add the ginger garlic paste and cook till raw smell goes. Allow to cool. Grind the fried onions to paste form. In a non stick pan, add some oil. Add the bay leaves, cinnamon stick and cloves. After few seconds add the onion paste and cashew almond sauce. Cook the paste on low flame for about 15 to 20 minutes. Keep stirring as even slight burning can alter the taste of the dish. Now add paneer, salt, garam masala, red chili powder and coriander powder. Add two cups of water and bring to a boil. Cook for another 5 minutes. The dish is ready.Remove the cinnamon stick, bay leaves and cloves.Serve hot with rotis or rice.. * Some people like it sweet, you can add some sugar or raisins.Garnish with cream if you prefer. *If paneer is not fresh and soft, fry it before adding it to the sauce. related searches : Shahi Paneer
