Simple Saturday
Waaaaaaaaa!!!! <————- This would be me whining and crying that the weekend is almost over……again! How do 2 days manage to fly by sooo quickly?!!? I will say that this weekend has been a great weekend though, including some simple, but good eats. Breakfast Yesterday morning, I left off on my last blog post hungry and ready for breakfast. The question on the table, however, was get creative or go with an old classic. Okay, so Bob’s Red mIll 7 grain hot cereal might not be the most creative breakfast, but I did try a new topping combo: 1/4 cup hot cereal 3/4 cup water 2 tsp real maple syrup dried apple slices walnuts cinnamon Finished off my breakfast with french pressed coffee with frothed skim milk and truvia. After going out and running some errands, I came home for a quick lunch and to get ready for the wedding. Lunch I kept it pretty simple I scrambled up some egg whites with spinach. I sandwiched my eggs between 2 slices of cinnamon raisin Ezekiel bread and topped with feta cheese. My sides were a sliced up pear and a cheesy stuffed sweet potato leftover from Thursday night’s dinner. Eggs on cinnamon raisin toast is delicious! The wedding I attended yesterday was for a sorority sister of mine, but the bride is also my boss’s daughter. The wedding and reception were beautiful! I sipped on a glass of zinfandel while we were waiting on the bridal party to arrive to the reception site. The food was delicious! I especially enjoyed the stuffed mushrooms and the chocolate covered strawberry. And my very favorite party of a wedding…… THE CAKES!!!! A wedding cake, in my opinion, is a true representation of the bride and groom’s vision of their wedding day. Also, wedding cake tastes better than all other cakes! And my favorite tradition of a wedding and reception is the cutting the cake and watching the bride and groom feed their cake to each other. We toasted the bride and groom with champagne. And enjoyed singing a song at the reception with some of my sorority sisters. Following the wedding and reception, Russell and I headed home quickly to change for a late night yoga class. Russell and I took yoga at a local studio with the Eight to the Eight’s contestants, remember those guys I hung out with last week? On the way to class I snacked on a Bear Naked granola bar…..I’m currently addicted to these Yoga class was awesome….We definitely worked up a sweat! What a great way to end a great Saturday!
