Carrot Poriyal (Carrot Salad)
Inspired from Kanchana's Married to a Desi:
![]() Ingredients: (for 6) 6 Carrots 1 tbsp lemon juice 1/4tsp salt or as needed 2tbsp oil ½ tsp urad dhal ½ tsp mustard seeds A pinch of asafetida A sprig curry leaves 1 green chilly Method: Soak urad dhal in warm water for 10 minutes. Remove and pat dry. Wash, peel and grate the carrots. Squeeze some lemon juice on it, add salt and reserve. Heat oil, add mustard seeds, when they splutter add urad dhal, curry leaves and the green chilly; fry for few seconds and add the asafetida, followed by the carrots. Remove and serve. This goes well as a side dish with almost all veg curries. related searches : Carrot
