Stuffed Pizza Bread
Astrid over at Lunches Fit for a Kid posted for Stuffed Pizza Bread pic by: Lunches Fit for a Kid I didn't have time to make pizza dough, I had my family of 6 mouths plus 2 teenage nephews and 1 teenage niece to feed. Ingredients: Pizza dough (your favorite recipe or store bought) ***I used Crescent Rolls: notes at end of post*** Shredded mozzarella cheese Your favorite pizza toppings (cooled if cooked) Grated Parmesan cheese olive oil *Preheat oven to 375 F. Spray a pie plate or a large tart pan with cooking spray. *Roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness *Cut dough into squares about 2" wide. *Place a small amount of filling in the center of each square (about 1 tablespoon of filling per each square) *Pinch together the corners of each square, taking care to keep all of the filling tucked inside. *Place the rolls in the prepared pie plate or tart pan, working your way from the outside in. *When the pie plate is full, brush olive oil over the top of the rolls, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. *Let them rest for 10 minutes to rise a little, and bake for ~20 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve with marinara sauce for dipping. ***My Notes*** I laid out the crescent rolls, pinched the seams together, and then used a rolling pin to flatten the dough. Next time I want to try it with whole wheat dough. ***My Review*** These things are AMAZING! Remember all those mouths that were waiting on me to get lunch ready? They all loved the Pizza Bread. It is very rare that all of my kids agree on a meal. Stuffed Pizza Bread is a keeper at our house. If you make them: leave a comment.
