THE ONLY CAKE BOOK YOU'LL EVER NEED

By Michael's Kitchen (Visit website)

A quote from TISH BOYLE:   "There's something magical about the process of making a cake from scratch, a process that transforms a few simple ingredients--butter, sugar, flour, and eggs--into culinary artistry."

--Tish Boyle

Truly this is the only cake book you'll ever need.  I have a ton of cookbooks, And this is by far the BEST CAKE BOOK that I've ever seen.
I spend a lot of time on the internet, looking at recipes, checking conversions,  seeing what goes with what. Looking at video's on this and that so I have a clearer picture as to what I'm wanting to bake.  Looking for that little trick that no one tells you about.  "I know you all have been there and done that."

This is from the Inside Flap,  It does a better description of the book that I can.
Cakes are the edible symbol of life's celebrations, and this comprehensive resource is a celebration of cakes and the love and artistry that go into making them. Tish Boyle, the award-winning author and editor of Chocolatier and Pastry Art & Design magazines, unlocks the secrets to baking great cakes, with nearly 200 irresistible recipes and practical guidance on ingredients, equipment, and techniques.
The Cake Book includes recipes ranging from pound cakes and coffee cakes tomeringue, mousse, and ice cream cakes to fillings, frostings, and more. Throughout, color and black-and-white photographs and drawings show you important techniques and spectacular end results. A difficulty rating with each recipe helps you decide which to make, depending on how much time?or ambition?you have. You'll find recipes for traditional favorites, like Deeply Dark Devil's Food Cake and Apple Cake with Maple Frosting, as well as intriguing variations, such as Jasmine and Ginger Plum Upside-Down Cake, Hazelnut Vanilla Cheesecake, and White Chocolate Strawberry Meringue Cake.
Complete with decorating tips and techniques, a troubleshooting table, and a comprehensive listing of sources to help you find the best equipment and ingredients, this book is an essential reference you'll always turn to, whether you're new to cake baking or are an accomplished pastry chef looking for fresh ideas, inspiration, and recipes. From simple cakes for everyday get-togethers to layered creations befitting special occasions,     The Cake Book will help you bake the perfect cake every time.

I have a ton of cookbooks, Sauces, Baking, Candy making, French, Italian and A bunch of CHOCOLATE books, books on Baking.  But this is by far the best one yet. In the book she goes through and gives a difficulty revue as to easy to professional levels. She talks about pans, ingredients, frosting, how the get the effects you want in your cake.
If I were teaching baking in a school or one on one, This is the book I would use. I would make it a must have for my students.

If you have a baker in your family, or one that wants to learn about cakes, This is the book to get. Amazon sells this book, and you can probably get it by Christmas if you order it shortly. Here is the link to Amazon and the book. Read the reviews and see how much other people have fallen in love with this book. Get the book for someone for Christmas, They will love it, and you get to eat the cakes.
