How to decorate party cakes with marshmallow flowers (video tutorial)

The spring is here, the sun is shining, the days are getting longer, picnics in the park (yes, it's our favorite season, if you haven't figured it out yet)!

When we think of spring, how can we not think of flowers that celebrate the beautiful season of renewal? Spring has inspired us to create a delicate floral decoration for your festive cakes, where all you need are a few marshmallows and a handful of hazelnuts. We explain it all right here:

Step 1: Cut the marshmallow

Step 1: Cut the marshmallow

Simply cut 4 slits in your marshmallow with a pair of scissors, without cutting all the way through, to form the petals of your flower.

Step 2: Shaping the flower

Step 2: Shaping the flower

The most delicate step is to spread the petals apart, giving them the shape of a flower. You can weld them together using the sticky part of the marshmallow. And if your hands get too sticky, don't hesitate to moisten them a little!

Step 3: To the oven

Step 3: To the oven

Place your flowers on a baking sheet with parchment paper for 15 minutes at 180 degrees.

Step 4: The hazelnut

Step 4: The hazelnut

Remove the flowers from the oven and add a hazelnut to the center to act as a pistil. Put the flowers back in the oven at 80 degrees, in a fan oven, for about 45 minutes to dry.

Step 5: Rest!

Step 5: Rest!

Once out of the oven, leave your flowers to cool on the baking sheet so that they harden and become easier to handle. And voilà, your marshmallow flowers are ready to decorate your finest pastries!
