Monday 25 August 2025 21:00 - Mirella Mendonça

These marinated mozzarella balls are incredibly tasty with herbs, olive oil and simple spices - and the best part: they're easy to prepare, can be made in advance and last for days in the fridge. Perfect for serving with bread, cold cuts, fresh salads or as a highlight on a cheese board. A practical, versatile recipe full of Mediterranean charm!
Those are the ingredients:
- 9 oz mozzarella balls
- 1/4 cup olive oil (+/-)
- salt
- pepper
- 4 fresh basil leaves
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
Here's the step by step:
- Place the mozzarella balls in a jar. There should be plenty of room inside.
- Add the olive oil, salt, pepper, oregano, parsley, rosemary, pepper and chopped fresh basil.
- Mix together.
- Make sure all the balls are immersed in the olive oil, adding more if necessary, depending on the jar used.
- Close the jar and refrigerate for at least an hour.
- And that's it! Enjoy them as an appetizer or add them to a salad ;-)
