When you have a cup of coffee, these delicious spiced cookies will be the best treat you can get :)


Number of serving: 20
1/3 cup softened butter

2/3 cup brown sugar

1.5 cups flour

1 tsp baking powder

3 egg yolks

2 tsp cinnamon


  • Step 1 - Homemade speculaas
    Mix the softened butter with the sugar. Then, add the flour, the baking powder and the grounded cinnamon. Mix to get a sort of sand. Finally, add the yolks and knead.
  • Step 2 - Homemade speculaas
    Make a ball and wrap it. Put in the fridge for 1 hour.
  • Step 3 - Homemade speculaas
    Roll the dough out, and make biscuits using a cookie cutter. Put them on a baking tray.
  • Step 4 - Homemade speculaas
    Bake 15 minutes at 350°F (180°C).
  • Step 5 - Homemade speculaas
    There you are, your speculaas are ready!

You can do a shortbread pastry with cinnamon to avoid the eggs, so just take the egg out and add some butter in the mix.
