Chicken in cream and yogurt

This is yet another experiment of mine with chicken that I made. I always love having my own combinations of ingredients and make a twist to the dish that I make. It not only interests me, but also ends up in a totally new recipe , that interests my family. Chicken is one dish that you could make in numerous ways. No matter what, all would be great.


Number of serving: 4
Chicken – 500 gms

Onions finely chopped – 1 cup

Ginger finely chopped – 2 tsp

Garlic finely chopped - 4-5 cloves

Dry red chilies - 3-4 nos

Fresh Cream - 1 cup

Chilly powder – 1/2 tbsp

Coriander powder – 1 1-2 tbsp

Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

Pepper powder – 1 tbsp

All spices powder – 1 tsp

Coriander Leaves for garnish

Mint Leaves for garnish



For the Marinate

Thick yogurt – 1/2 cup

Tomato sauce – 3 tbsp

Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp finely chopped.




  • Clean the chicken and marinate them with the marinate ingredients and refrigerate for about 1-2 hours.
  • Cook the chicken by pressure cooking it.
    Onto a hot pan, add some oil and when hoy, add in the onions, ginger, red chillies, and garlic and saute well.
  • When onions become translucent, add in all the dry and mix well. Add salt to this.
  • When done, mix in the cooked chicken along with the stock and mix well.
  • Keep on medium flame and when the stock reduces, add in the fresh cream and give a good mix.
  • Garnish with mint or coriander leaves and serve hot with rice, chapatti or rumali roti.
