1 tbsp oil

1 garlic cloves, minced

1 large onion, finely chopped

2 tbsp paprika

1 tbsp flour

1 tbsp vinegar

1 tbsp tomato paste

500 g stewing beef, cut into cubes

3 cups beef broth

1 large carrot, chopped

1 large potato, chopped

1 red bell pepper, chopped

1 bay leaf


  • In a heavy pan, heat oil add the beef and cook until brown. transfer browned beef into a bowl.
  • Lower down heat. Sautee onion and garlic until golden. Stir in paprika and flour and cook, stirring.
  • Whisk in vinegar and tomato paste cook for 1 minute.
  • Stir in broth, beef, potatoes, carrots, bell pepper and bay leaf. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 50 minutes to 1 hour or until the beef is tender.
  • Stirring occasionally. Season soup with salt and pepper. Serve warm.
