Ingredients

Number of serving: 3
Beef ~ 1/2 kg

Coriander powder ~ 1 1/2 tablespoons

Chilly powder ~ 3/4 tablespoons

Turmeric powder ~ 1/2 tsp

Chopped onions ~ 1/2 cup

Grated coconut ~ 1/2 cup

Pepper powder ~ 1/2 teaspoon

Chopped shallots ~ 1/4 cup

Fenugreek powder ~ 1/2 teaspoon

Cinnamon ( Karugapatta ) ~ a small piece

Cardamom (Elakka) ~ 4 Nos

Cloves (Grambu) ~ 5 Nos

Curry leaves ~ 6-7 leaves

Oil ~ 1 tablespoon

Salt to taste.

Preparation

  • Wash the beef and drain the water from the meat. Then chop the beef to small cubes. Mix the beef pieces with coriander powder, chilly powder, turmeric powder, chopped onions and salt without adding water.
  • Refrigerate the marinated beef pieces for 20 minutes. Then pressure cook the beef pieces by adding 3/4 cup of water for 30 minutes in medium flame.
  • Meanwhile heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and fry grated coconut, pepper powder,cinnamon, cardamom , fenugreek powder, cloves, chopped shallots in low flame till the coconut becomes slightly golden brown in color.
  • Allow the fried coconut mix to cool and then powder it in a mixie. Then open the pressure cook and keep it in medium flame till all the remainning water evaporates.
  • Mix the powdered coconut mix, curry leaves and the beef pieces together and cook till its almost dry.
  • Make sure to stir in between to avoid burning. Serve hot with chapathi or rice.
