Taro Root - 4

Grated Coconut - 1 cup

Curd - 1 cup

Channa Dal - 1/2 cup

Corriander Seeds - 1/2 tbsp

Green Chillies - 3

Salt - 2 tbsp

Turmeric - 1/2 tbsp

Hing - 1 tbsp

Coconut Oil - 2 tbsp

Mustard Seeds - 1 tbsp

Curry Leaves


  • Soak Channa Dal in water for about 15 minutes.
  • If you are using Taro Root then pressure cook and keep it ready.
  • In a frying pan, heat oil. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves. Let it splutter.
  • Add the boiled taro root to the pan. Pour little water.
  • Add salt,hing and turmeric powder. Let this mixture boil for about 5 minutes.
  • In the meantime, grind the soaked channa dal with grated coconut,green chillies,corriander seeds.
  • Mix this above ground paste with curd. Use a spoon and mix them well.
  • Now in the pan add this mixture and let it be on the gas stove for other 4-5 minutes.
  • You will see kind of foam being formed in the pan. This is the right time to turn off the gas stove.
  • Now garnish morekuzambu with corriander leaves.
