  • Boil the soaked van payar, until soft. Thinly chop the shallots.or crush them in a mixer.
  • Heat oil in a wok, drop in the chillies and as soon as it changes colour splutter the mustard.
  • Now add the chopped shallots , red chilly powder and curry leaves. Fry until the onions turns to colour.
  • Now add the cooked Payar, salt and a little water, bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes. And finally, serve hot with steaming mounds of Puttu.
