1 cup of yogurt

3/4 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

11/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 cup melted salted butter

11/2 cups whole wheat pastry flour

1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/3 cup blueberries

Ground nutmeg

Cooking spray for greasing the muffin pan


  • Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Place the yogurt in a bowl and add the sugar and beat well till the sugar is dissolved.
  • Stir in the baking soda and baking powder and let this rest for 3-4 minutes, the mixture should appear nice and frothy.
  • Gently stir in the butter. Mix in the sifted flour in small amounts until well mixed.
  • Dust very lightly with ground nutmeg. Grease the muffin pans and add 2-3 teaspoons of the batter and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and let these muffins rest in the oven for 10 minutes. Stir in the blueberries and chocolate chips.
  • Remove from the oven and serve when completely cool.
