5 Things Friday

By The Fitness Dish (Visit website)

Good morning! Thanks everyone for the “feel better” wishes. Still a little congested & was SUPER nasally, the Neti pot 2x a day helped A LOT– so I am sure I’ll survive. Damn you, Ragweed.

I was SO out of it yesterday, and it was about 98 degrees, I was in long black gym pants and a tee (left my house WAY early when it was still cool)–at Whole Foods around lunch, I decided to park in the underground lot because there was just too much going on with cars coming and going in the upper lot (I lack patience), and it was SOOO hot, I figured it would be cooler walking from the car down there. Well, I was at WF earlier that day for a quick bladder break (had mad errands between clients, didn’t make sense to stop home)–when I parked upstairs. Long story short, when I left there the 2nd time, I was in the upstairs lot, in like 100 degree heat walking around NOT understanding WHY I couldn’t find my car. Um…”Hello, McFlyyyyy!!”-Yup, it was one of those moments….my excuse: exhaustion, head congestion, dehydration, the works. Hopefully you enjoyed that story ;-)

Now onto some business:

now some five-nesss:

5 Exercises to Do with a Partner:

1. Floor Slams

Start by standing upright and holding the medicine ball over your head. Keep your abdominal’s contracted throughout the entire exercise as you squat and throw the ball to the floor so that it bounces up toward your partner. Your partner catches the ball and quickly throws it back to you. Be sure you both maintain good posture.

2. Partner Standing Row
3.Lunge to Chest Pass
4. Medicine Ball Sit Up & Pass
5. Leg Throws

…BEST ab exercise…EVER!

My 5 Favorite Food Rules:

1. Eat Food

-I’m talking REAL food…not fake food, food closest to  it’s natural state.

2. Avoid Food Products that contain more than 5 ingredients
3.  Avoid Food Products containing ingredients that a 3rd grader can not pronounce
4.  Avoid Food Products that make “Health Claims”
5. If it came from a plant, eat it; if it was made in a plant, don’t

3. My Hands–

I am grateful for my hands so that I can write, touch, pet Munchkin, cook, and do push-ups :-)

4. My Lips–

I am grateful for m lips so I can speak, kiss, sing, and open my mouth to enjoy food
