Biryani Rice and Salmon Bento Box
Today’s featured bento box is a quick one. We are back to work and the packing of lunches resumes with partial reluctance. We’ve been eating a lot of sweets, desserts and party food… way too much I might add! Instincts tell us to just stop eating all together, but that’s unrealistic and a healthy lunch will deter any further snacking at the office. I’m sure there will be many sugar-filled opportunities as folks bring in their extra pies, cakes and cookies in hopes of ridding their own homes of these tempting treats. :) Saba Man’s bento box contains leftover veggie biryani rice, steamed broccoli, grilled salmon patty with a light “teriyaki” sauce, tomatoes and sliced mango. It’s a hodge podge bento box as I haven’t had the need to cook anything and we went out for Indian food on Christmas Day hence the biryani rice . The salmon patty is from my frozen ”bento fillers” stash and with six minutes on the George Foreman grill…it’s done. The broccoli florets are dunked in salted water, drained then steamed. The remaining space is occupied with tomatoes and sliced mango. It’s a medly of flavors but a filling lunch that will support Saba Man’s resolve to “just say no”. No more peppermint bark, penuche fudge or fruitcake (Yes, we love fruitcake) and back to healthy eating and delicious bento box lunches! related searches : Biryani
