Coffee and Christmas Cookies in the Morning

By Marens Morsels (Visit website)

Good morning friends. Do you like the new banner? I really do.

What was wrong with the old one?

Well, the running shoes were taunting me. They were making me sort of down about my rehab progress from surgery and I realized that I really shouldn?t be down about any of it. I?ve made great progress. My ankle is deemed a successful reconstruction and my therapist thinks I?ll make a full recovery and have full use of my ankle, no restrictions. So I decided to just alleviate the problem and remove the shoes.

I think this banner is much more appropriate for what I?m blogging about these days anyways. Plus I LOVE purple and this gave me an excuse to incorporate the color.

I bet you might not be able to recognize these little pumpkin cookies, but you?ve seen them before! They?re the pumpkin whoopie cookies!

My grandma is having a little Christmas Party for her neighbor friends this afternoon and I was asked to bring desserts. I couldn?t resist another chance to spread the whoopie wealth so I made my absolute favorite- pumpkin and the Burnt Butter Rum flavor. I hope they like them.

I love this cookie plain! They?re so tasty. I had 2 of the larger, unacceptable cookies with a heaping mug of Crème Brule coffee with the last tablespoon of egg nog. Such a fun Christmas-y Breakfast!

It?s still all about the pillow!

2 Cookies in 1 Morning

I had such a hard time trying to figure out what cookies to make. I thought about all my favorite peanut butter cookies like Magic Cookies, 3 Ingredient PB?s and Dough Balls. But we?re lacking in peanut butter. Then I thought about Snickerdoodles and all the Chocolate Chip Cookies I?ve made. But I just couldn?t turn down the opportunity to make more whoopies.

I had to make pumpkin because it?s my favorite.

Then I thought about Chocolate or Peppermint but decided to Brunt Butter Rum. It?s such a fun whoopie and a really unique flavor that I thought everyone would enjoy. Peppermint is everywhere during Christmas.

I think everyone will love them!
