Congee -Rice porridge
The most prescribed food when someone is sick is congee. It has all the essential ingredients that soothes the stomach and protects the body. Coconut milk helps in healing stomach and mouth ulcers. The other ingredients have natural healing properties. Overall it is a nutritious diet that is easy and quick to make anytime of the day. Ingredients 1.Par boiled rice - 50gms 2. Fenugreek - 1/2tsp 3. Cumin - 1/2tsp 4. Garlic cloves - 3 5. Mung dal - 1tbsp 6. Coconut milk - 400ml Method 1. Combine rice and mung dal, rinse well. Add fenugreek, cumin, garlic cloves, 500ml of water, salt and pressure cook. 2.When it is cool add desired quantity of coconut milk and serve. One need not be sick to relish this delicious congee, healthy folks can eat this with ginger pickle or bengal gram thuvaiyal.
