Creamy Pork and Vegetable Stew
Our Tuesday's creamy lunch.. We're looking for some cream of mushroom and found canned white sauce instead, without any clue on what to do with it we bought it and made some experiment out of it.. I cut some pork (200g) into bite size pieces, some bacon (3pcs), one potato, one carrot, small onion and 3 cloves garlic.. I fried the pork and bacon and set them aside..Then saute the garlic and onion then I added the fried pork/bacon, then the white sauce, potatoes and carrots.. added some ground pepper and a cup of water and it turns out yummy.. Would have been nice if we have some broccoli and mushroom.. maybe next time, that's why it's an experiment.. We have some leftover after.... instead of eating it again with rice, I cooked some pasta, added some fried ham, bacon, additional onion, garlic powder, ground pepper, basil, chili flakes and a cup of milk and a teaspoon of flour to the leftover sauce and tossed it to the pasta.. and voila! Snack for hubby.. Hitting two dishes in one sauce.. Love how the crispy pork blends with the creamy sauce, and the sweet aroma of the bacon.. I didn't add salt because as the sauce thickens it turns salty.. It's fun experimenting...especially when it turns out great.. how would I know if it's great? When hubby looked at me in the eye, with a smile on his face and after a few minutes asked for another bowl of rice...and another...and up until today my experiments never fail.
