Earth Day
Today we celebrate Mother Earth, or more to the point, we look at what we’re doing to the planet and how we might lessen our impact. As many people have pointed out, we need to make every day Earth Day, but I love ritual and ceremony, so I can appreciate a day set aside for such reflection. Hell, I can appreciate a week… This week I planted herbs: Oregano and thyme Mint And my favorite herb of all, basil (I planted this from a very small plant, less than a week ago and it’s more then doubled in size!) And as proof that we’re not quite as delicate as some may think, here are my rosemary and curly parsley plants from last year that somehow came back after the frigid winter and the shocking snow that we endured. I never thought they’d come back, but they did. And in the coming year, I pledge to recycle more, find even more local resources and make healthier, kinder choices in my consumption. And in the coming week, I pledge to add cilantro and tarragon to my little garden. How about you? What will you pledge?Similar Posts: related searches : Earth
