Some cauliflowers I had for lunch. Steam or roast, it's up to you but I prefer steaming my vegetables cause it's more convenient. It tasted like a tomato pesto, without the pasta. I sprinkled some cheese on top. When I opened the lid of my wok, I was disappointed that my cheese has all melted into the sauce. If it was baked, surely the cheese would stay visible. There were lots of flavour in the cauliflower cause the cheese has melted into it. A keeper recipe for diet days, light, quick or simple meals. Steamed Cauliflower with Tomatoes(serves 2) 1 medium head cauliflower 2 tomatoes 1 large yellow onion some fresh basil leaves salt and pepper some olive oil or butter some cheddar or mozzarella cheese Method: Wash cauliflower with cold water, trim off the hard root and discard hard outer leaves. Cut into bite sized florets. Chop yellow onion and slice the tomatoes. With a medium saucepan, heat a little oil and stir fry the chopped yellow onion until translucent. Season with salt and pepper. Prepare two heat proof bowls. Bed the bottom layer with the cooked onion and top with sliced tomatoes. Sit the cauliflowers on top. Stuff some basil leaves between these layers. Season with salt and pepper and sprinkle the top with some shredded cheese. Steam for 5mins or until cauliflower is tender. Sprinkle some finely chopped basil leaves. Serve with rice, or pasta. ~||Note||~ : For roasting, set oven temperature to 200C for 25-30min. ![]() related searches : Flowers
