Hair Food: Mane 'n Tail

By Get your feast on! (Visit website)

My hair less than a year ago (messy & unstyled)
This stuff works. End of story. It's just a matter of time before I regain long beautiful locks!! Don't get me wrong I loved my short hair, angled bob, but it was just too difficult to maintain. My hair grows pretty fast and constantly going back to the salon to get it trimmed is not really convenient for me. I miss being able to throw my hair up into a ponytail and the feeling of letting my hair down. I miss the versatility of long hair. I actually purchased hair extensions, but they were only 12 inches and my hair grew out of them and the longer extensions are WAYYY out of my budget, so for right now I will have to rely on my patience to carry me through.

Currently my front layers are pretty close to reaching my upper chest. The back which of course was a lot shorter because of my angled cut, is almost touching my shoulder blades (I apologize I don't have a good shot of my hair...I will update this space as soon as I take one)

I've been using Mane 'n Tail for a good few months now, and I will say that I'm seeing some steady results! I was hesitant at first, but I've heard so many success stories that I decided to give it a try. I wasn't sure what to expect from this brand that was originally only used for horses.

Pros
Both the shampoo and conditioner smell pretty good--very light, fresh, and a little citrusy..can't quite put a finger on it, but it's good.

You get A LOT of product, 32oz, for a pretty good price (I bought mine at Wal-Mart for just under $6 each). It'll last you a really long time.

Shampoo lathers very well, so you don't need to use too much product.

The conditioner can be used as both a deep conditioner in the shower or a leave-in conditioner on damp or dry hair.

Cons
The shampoo is a little drying for my hair. I'm not sure if weather is an underlying factor though.

The conditioner isn't creamy enough for me. I have to put on A LOT of conditioner just to efficiently coat my hair.

I will note that I use the conditioner both  in the shower as well as for leave-in when I step out in combination with some herbal oil for extra moisture. Overall, I like it and will continue to use it for the sole purpose of growing my hair out. After I reach my desired length, I will probably switch back to a different one. Wish me luck!

peace&love

Andrea
