Homemade Corn Tortillas
There is nothing that smells better than homemade tortillas. It reminds me of my home town Amarillo, Texas. Right when you are driving in to Amarillo there is a Tortilla Factory and it smells SO good! It reminds me of my grandparents house, I love my grandparents. Waking up to the smell of breakfast and coffee, there is just that comfort and security when you are with your grandparents. I don't know why it has taken me this long to make my own, laziness? Must be because they are so easy to make, I mean literally take 10 minutes! Ingredients: 2 cups of Maza 1/4 tsp salt 1 1/4 cup water Directions: Mix all ingredients until a ball forms. I think its best to use your hands. Heat your comal or skillet on medium- high. Roll 16 equal size balls and press with a tortilla press. If you are like me and do not own a tortilla press then you can use this great tip my grandma told me. Get wax paper or plastic wrap and put your dough ball in between two pieces, get a flat plate and press down on your dough ball until it is evenly flat. Peel off paper and put on comal for 50 seconds on each side. Simple! Then when you are ready to eat just reheat on your comal for best flavor. related searches : Homemade
