For Valentine's day, I posted
Romeo and Juliet dessert and
Pass the Pocky's pastries commented on how she makes a pastry involving puff pastry, guava paste, and cream cheese. It was stuck in my head. When my friend, Pat, told me that she was going to Miami. I asked her about these puff pastries. After she go back, she gave me one of these treats. The puff pastry had just the guava paste and my son loved it. I was so excited when Natasha posted her
Pastelitos recipe.I made it without the eggs or the egg wash. I found the two main ingredients at the local
World Harvest store.

I just used the 8 5"x5" cut puff pastries.

Ingredients:
4 oz cream cheese
1 Tbs sugar (next time, reduce to 1 tsp sugar)
1 tsp vanilla
1 thin sliver of guava paste (2 was too much)

Let the 4 year old seal the edges with a fork.

Bake at 385 for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Please check out Natasha's and Pass the pocky's recipes above. Both pastelitos look better than mine.
