RAW AND PUMPED

By Tenina (Visit website)

Pick Me Ups; Raw Power!

My job has to be the greatest job around; I get to cook and eat it too! I get to learn something new almost daily, I get to be creative…and I hardly ever have to take my lunch to work! Today I found out that I have to go to Zurich to study up on some new technology Vorwerk are introducing globally…Tough gig! But someone has to do it! So I’ll be packing my bags (and my winter woolies) soon enough, and no doubt, you’ll hear all about it…especially if you follow me on Twitter.

To keep my energy up for all this manic global activity, I have come up with these little beauties that can be Thermomixed in no time. I made them one morning on my way out the door! How easy are they? Great as a mid morning pick me up but they certainly should not be eaten after 5pm-ish, if you want a good sleep that is! Fantastic as a gift for that healthy friend that is so hard to get anything for…and yes, that would be a subtle reminder that Christmas is well on it’s way…so this blog will turn into Christmas central from the kitchen. So if gifting foodie presents is your thing, stay posted, I am Santa’s little helper again this year. In the meantime, get your energy happening with this first!

Pick Me Ups

NEED:

1/2 cinnamon stick

1 vanilla bean

40g almonds

1tsp Kola Nut powder

12og dates

pinch Celtic sea salt

110g dried cherries

30g coconut chips

100g raw pecans

35g raw cacao

40g raw cacao butter

coconut for RCR

DO:

Place cinnamon, vanilla bean and almonds into Thermomix bowl and mill for 20 seconds on speed 8.

Add Kola Nut powder, dates, salt and cherries and mix for 30 seconds on speed 8.

Add remaining ingredients except coating coconut and with dial set to closed lid position, knead for 1 minute on Interval speed.

Press into lined baking tin and refrigerate. Remove, cut, roll…(or RCR)! And Bob could be your uncle; eat sparingly!
