Shrimp & Mealmaker Biryani / Eral,Mealmaker Biryani
Shrimp/Eral - 8 to 10 nosOnion(medium) - 1 noBasmathi Rice - 1 cupFennelSeeds/Sombu - 1/4 tspTomato - 1 noMint Leaves - 5 to 6 stksMealmakers - 12 to 15 nosBay Leaves - 3 nosCloves - 3 nosCardamon - 2 nosCinnamon - 3 nosGinger Garlic Paste - 1/2 tspTurmeric Powder - 1/4 tspRed Chilli Powder - 1/2 tspGreen Chillies - 3 to 4 nosCoriander Leaves - 4 stksOilSalt to Taste Water - 1 1/2 cup(if want add extra 1/2 cup) Wash & clean the shrimp & set aside.Wash & soak the basmathi rice for about 25 to 30 mins.Heat oil in skillet ,add bayleaves, cloves ,cardamon,cinnamon,fennel seeds/sombu & let them fry for a minute. Add green chillies, ginger garlic paste & fry for a while ,then add the finely chopped onions, half of the mint leaves & coriander leaves & saute for while until the onions turn translucent .Now add the chopped tomatoes & stir all together well , after 5 mins add the red chili powder ,turmeric powder & saute it well for about 6 to 7 mins. In the mean time ,soak the mealmaker for about 10 to 15 mins in hot water & then squeeze the water from the meal maker by pressing it with your hand. Now add the shrimp & mealmaker pieces & sprinkle some water & cook for about 5 to 6 mins in medium flame .Now add 1 1/2 cups of water to the shrimp , meal maker gravy /mixture & allow it boil . While the water is boiling add the soaked rice , extra mint leaves & coriander leaves ,salt & stir well all together (check for salt & spicy ) Transfer this whole mixture to a bowl (which fits into ur pressure cooker ) & keep it inside the pressure cooker & leave it for 3 whistles & 5 mins simmer.
