THANKSGIVING MARTINIS - Pumpkin Martini

By The MARTINI DIVA (Visit website)

Download the full sized print quality recipe card here THANKSGIVING PUMPKIN MARTINI This is another version of my popular Pumpkin Pie Martini.   This pumpkin martini uses Bols Pumpkin Liqueur and rum instead of Hiram Walker's Pumpkin Spice liqueur and vodka and it has a slightly nuttier flavor from the use of the Frangelico.

Which one is better? That depends, comparing the two is like comparing family recipes for pumpkin pie, it all comes down to personal taste and what you're familiar with.  Try them both out and play with the spice blends to customize to your tastes - my Pumpkin Pie Martini tastes just like my Mom's pumpkin pie!  You can also try out the Pumpkin Eggnog MartiniLooking for a Pumpkin Mocktail?(a non-alcoholic cocktail) Try replacing the pumpkin flavored liquors with a pumpkin flavored syrup like Torani's.  To replace the liquid volume of the rum or vodka use milk to thin out your mocktail and you can capture the rum flavor by adding a little artificial rum flavoring. Vodka doesn't really have much flavor on it's own so you don't have to worry about that flavor substitution.

You want a Low Calorie Pumpkin Martini?

Try replacing the heavy cream with a mixture of milk and pumpkin puree (I used canned pumpkin), reduce the amount of pumpkin liqueur to a splash (usually 1/4 an ounce) and add a little more of your spices. As for the booze, any liqueur or cordial will have more calories because of the sugar content in it, usually around 100 - 125 calories per ounce.  Base liquors like rum and vodka, as well as whiskey, gin and scotch, have about 65 calories per ounce for 80 proof and about 80 calories for 100 proof. I'm going to have a little Thanksgiving Surprise tomorrow - stay tuned for a Thanksgiving Martini that will wow you!

PLEASE, BE SAFE WHILE TRAVELING TO YOUR THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION! DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE, STAY ALIVE!!! Previous Thanksgiving Martinis:
