They Call it Puppy Love!
Tear down the cobwebs and remove the zombies from the trees – Halloween 2K10 is ovah! We had the cutest trick-or-treaters last night, including a TON of Harry Potters. (I gave extra candy to the Harry’s – those round glasses are adorable!) We even had a visit from a mischievous Dalmatian puppy. Any guesses? FINN! He looked ADORABLE, but was having a bit of an allergic reaction to some chocolate (and me apparently) – poor little guy!! We handed out a good bit of candy, but still have a TON leftover. I made the torturous right decision and sent the leftovers to work with Ben today. He had to go in for a couple hours and I am MORE than happy to say sayonara to it. Blech. I don’t want to see another piece of candy for…at least 8 hours… Today was geared toward balancing it all out. Starting with a trip to the gym and a killer treadmill sesh: Time Speed Incline 0-1 4.0 1% 1-3 6.3 1% 3-5 6.5 1% 5-15 Start at 7.0 and increase .1 every minute 1% 15-20 4.0 1% 20-30 Start at 7.0 and increase .1 every minute 1% 30-35 4.0 1% 35-45 Start at 7.0 and increase .1 every minute 1% 45-50 3.5 0% Total: 5.15 miles Not going to lie this was pretty brutal and quite a bit of time spent on the treadmill for me (I usually can’t take more than 40 minutes on the hamster wheel,) but I tried to zone out to Father of the Bride 2 playing on the tv and all in all it was a great workout. TOUGH, but great! Went home, cleaned up and went grocery shopping! Here’s our booty: The Produce Dole Salad Mix Russet Potato/Sweet Potato Avocado Lime Jalapeno Green onions Tomatoes Honeycrisp Apples Refrigerated Items 2lbs 93/7 lean ground beef Chuck roast (bound for the freezer – it was on sale!) Pecorino Cheese Low-Sodium DiLusso Turkey Swiss Cheese The Rest Freschetta California Style Bacon, Spinach & Artichoke Pizza (had a free coupon!) Taco Seasoning Diced Green Chilis Great Northern Beans Beef Bullion Salad Dressing Taco Shells Total: $55. A tad higher than what I would have predicted, but the chuck roast and 93/7 lean ground beef really stuck it to me. I plan to use these items and some Farmer’s Market goodies to create some good eats this week! After THAT (wow I’ve done a lot today!) this couple, met this couple, for a Mexican feast at Monterrey! My go-to Mexican joint! The chips were just excellent today. Nice and airy and crispy. And the salsa was flowin’ like water. 4 hungry people go through a LOT of salsa. I’m just sayin’. Per usual, our meal was out in no time at all. Cheese & Bean Enchiladas with Rice! The best rice on the planet! Just when I thought I was done, I went back and ate it all. Totally worth it. This afternoon I shall be making some breakfasts for the week and letting dinner simmer away on the stove. I’ll be back with deets! See ya! Related posts:Call for Recipes!
