Preparation
Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Beat the egg yolks with the sugar until creamy. Add the mascarpone.
Whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the mascarpone mixture using a spatula.
Cut the strawberries into quarters. Mix the strawberry syrup with water and dip the lady fingers in it briefly during assembly.
Using a piping bag (or a spoon), place some cream at the bottom of the glass.
Layer soaked lady fingers on top and cover with cream. Add cut strawberries, then more cream. Repeat with another layer of soaked lady fingers and finish with cream.
Finally, decorate the top with strawberries. Cover the glass with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
Remove the plastic wrap and enjoy!
Observations
Mascarpone Cream:
* You can add a vanilla bean or vanilla extract to enhance the flavor.
* Feel free to add a pinch of salt to your egg whites.
Piping Bag:
* You can use a freezer bag; just cut a corner. Use a spatula to help fill it.
* Alternatively, you can simply use a spoon to fill the glass with cream.
Rest Time:
It's best to refrigerate the tiramisu overnight, but if you're in a hurry, 4 hours minimum will suffice.
Decoration:
* You can add mint or basil leaves on top of your strawberry tiramisu.
* You can also place halved strawberries vertically in the glass if they stand well.
