Eggless wheat Sponge Cake

I had bookmarked this recipe from SunitaBhuyan and yesterday was a perfect occasion to bake this. It was my husband's birthday and I made this sponge cake.
IngredientsWheat flour/Atta: 1.5 cups
White granulated Sugar: 3/4 cup
Baking powder: 2 tsp
Vanilla essence: 1 tsp
Sunflower oil: 6 tablespoons
Water: 1 cup

Procedure:
Step1:
Powder the sugar and add it to sifted wheat flour
Step2:
Add baking powder and mix well

Step3:
Mix all the wet ingredients (water, oil and vanilla extract) in a separate bowl

Step4:
Mix the wet and dry ingredients and beat to a smooth batter
Step5:
Pour into 2 8" square pans (Line the pans with parchment paper)
Step6:
Bake at a preheated oven of 350 F for 20 min until the sides turn light brown.The center of the cake should feel springy to touch.
Step7:
Cool the cake and then decorate it.
