Slow cooker country-style pork ribs with sauerkraut and apples

Ingredients

Number of serving: 4
2 lbs country-style boneless pork ribs

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced thinly

1 lb sauerkraut, with liquid

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

freshly grated pepper, to taste

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat the oil, then brown the ribs on all sides. Place the ribs in the slow cooker.
  • Layer the apples over the pork ribs. Place the sauerkraut with the liquid over the apples.
  • Sprinkle the brown sugar, garlic and onion powder, and pepper over the top. Cover and cook on high for 3 hours (or on low for 6-7 hours).
