600 g pork spare ribs ( chopped into bite size )

2 tablespoon chopped chilli padi

2 tablespoon minced garlic

1 tablespoon minced ginger

Some chopped spring onion


1 tablespoon fermented black bean ( soaked and chopped )

1 tablespoon fermented soya bean paste

1 tablespoon light soy sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Dash of white pepper

1 teaspoon sugar


  • Combine all ingredients and seasoning and marinate for 40 minutes.
  • Steam on HIGH heat for 15 to 18 minutes or until spare ribs are fully cooked.
  • Garnish with chopped spring onion and serve hot with steamed rice or porridge.
