3 pounds of Flank Steak

1 cup molasses

3 teaspoons dried thyme

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

4 teaspoons minced garlic

2 one gallon freezer bags


  • Rinse and trim steaks as desired. Put one steak in each fresh bag.
  • Whisk together vinegar, molasses, thyme,salt, pepper, and nutmeg in medium bowl. Divide the marinade evenly over the steaks.
  • Into each bag measure 2 teaspoons minced garlic. Seal and freeze.
  • When ready to grill, completely thaw one entree in the refrigerator.
  • Prepare a medium fire in a gas or charcoal grill. Cook 15 to 20 minutes for medium-rare to medium.
  • Turn occasionally and baste as desired. Do not baste during final 5 minutes of cooking. Discard remaining marinade.
