Ingredients

8 Ounces Unsalted Butter
1/2 Cup Shortening
3 Cups Granulated Sugar
5 Eggs
3 Cups All Purpose Flour
1 Cup 7-Up
2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract

Let Butter sit at room temperature until soft.
Mix Butter, Shortening and Sugar together and beat with your mixer until fluffy in appearance.
Add Eggs, one at a time, while beating on low speed.
Add Flour in 1/2 cup stages with the addition of 7- up in between.
Incorporate all ingredients evenly.
Pour Batter in prepared loaf pan, and bake at 325° F. for 80 Minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle is removed clean.
