Sticky, chewy, nutty chelsea cinnamon rolls

Ingredients

Number of serving: 4
3 ½ cups strong bread flour, plus extra for rolling

2 teaspoons dried yeast

¼ cup cold butter

1 tablespoon sugar

½ cup sour cream

1 cup warm water

Zest of one orange


Filling :

1 cup mixed dried fruit

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 ½ teaspoon cinnamon

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup chopped pecans


Icing to drizzle :

3-4 tablespoons icing sugar

1-2 tablespoons water

Few drops vanilla extract

Preparation

  • Mix together the flour, yeast and sugar then rub in the cold butter until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Sticky, Chewy, Nutty Chelsea Cinnamon Rolls
  • Place in a greased bowl, cover with a tea towel and leave to rise in a warm place for an hour. Meanwhile, mix together all of the ingredients for the filling.
  • Knock the air out of you bread which should have doubled in size and knead again for five minutes. On a lightly floured surface roll out half of the dough to 1 ½-2cm thick.
  • Cut the roll into 1 ½ inch wide pieces and place on a greased, lined baking tray and glaze with a little milk. Repeat the above process for the second half of the ingredients.
  • Place into a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 30-35 minutes until golden brown on top. Allow to cool on a wire rack and when cold drizzle over the icing.
  • Enjoy with friends, family and your favourite hot drink!
