Do you ever dreamed of a chocolate panettone ? Here it is !

Ingredients

Number of serving: 8

For the panettone:

0.8 lb flour

a pinch of salt

1 Tbsp fresh yeast

1/3 cup warm water

1/3 cup warm milk

1 egg

2 egg yolks

2 oz brown sugar

4 oz softened butter

3.5 oz chocolate chips

0.5 oz melted butter


For the topping:

3.5 oz chocolate

1 Tbsp butter

Preparation

  • Step 1 - Panettone with chocolate chips (Chocottone)
    in a kneader, knead the flour and the salt.
    Mix together the fresh yeast with the warm milk and the warm water. Add this mix to the flour and salt and knead during 1 minute.
  • Step 2 - Panettone with chocolate chips (Chocottone)
    Add the egg while kneading then cover with a kitchen towel and leave to rest 30 minutes.
  • Step 3 - Panettone with chocolate chips (Chocottone)
    Add the egg yolks, the brown sugar and the soft butter gradually. Knead 5 minutes. Cover with plastic foil and leave to rest 2 hours.
  • Step 4 - Panettone with chocolate chips (Chocottone)
    Incorporate the chocolate chips into the dough.
  • Step 5 - Panettone with chocolate chips (Chocottone)
    Pour the dough in a buttered panettone mold and leave to rest 1 hour. Make a cross on top and brush the top with melted butter.
  • Step 6 - Panettone with chocolate chips (Chocottone)
    Put it in the oven at 350F during 40 minutes.
  • Step 7 - Panettone with chocolate chips (Chocottone)
    Leave to cool. Melt the chocolate and the butter then coat the top of the panettone. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  • Step 8 - Panettone with chocolate chips (Chocottone)
    There you are, your panettone with chocolate is ready.
