Adopt A Gluten Free Blogger Event - French Bread
So, if you haven't already figured it out, I'm participating in the adopt a gluten free blogger event over a lexieskitchen.com. She has a beautiful site and you should check it out if you get a chance. I decided to adopt Linda from glutenfreehomemaker.com and make her french bread recipe. This is the first recipe I've tried from Linda, but they all look wonderful. I'm sure I'll try many more recipes from her in the future. I'm new to gluten free blogging and was really excited to find Linda's site but many people need no introduction to her as she seems to be very popular in the blogging community. Besides just posting recipes, she has a monthly gluten free challenge, monthly clean kitchen challenge, reviews, tips, and so much more. But I've gotta tell ya that I've had quite a time trying to make her french bread recipe. I only get a chance to go to the health food store every Thursday. Well, this past Thursday when I went they were out of sorghum flour!--can you believe it? They said they were getting more in the next day....but that doesn't help me now does it! The adopt a gluten free blogger event's deadline is this coming Friday and that's just too close of a call for me. So, the next day (this past Friday) my mom kindly went and picked up some sorghum flour for me and brought it down. However, she bought me sweet sorghum flour instead of plain sorghum flour. Is there a difference-I'm not sure??? I've tried to look it up but haven't had much luck. You would think I would know this, but I usually only cook with almond flour, coconut flour, and tapioca flour. I went ahead and made Linda's recipe with the sweet sorghum flour and it turned out really good. Besides from it being a little bit crispy, it was easy to make and had a very good flavor. I think if I would have added a little bit extra water to it, it would have been perfect. In Linda's recipe she talks about the dough being really soft and going through the holes of the pan, but my dough was not nearly that soft, makes me wonder if I did something wrong? Even though my loaf didn't turn out as light and fluffy as hers did, it was still wonderful and I'll definitely make it again. Thanks for the great recipe Linda :) Here are my pictures: related searches : Adopt Blogger
