Chicken with fenugreek leaves

Yesterday , My Dad-in law came home for lunch..

I made Rice, rasam, Mushroom palak and Methi Chicken..

So I am gonna share the method of making Methi chicken now,

Ingredients

Chicken - 1kg
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
Large Onion - 1 (chopped)
Garlic Garlic paste - 2 tsp full
Turmeric powder -½ tsp
Red chilli powder -1 tsp
Tomato puree or paste- 2 tbsp full
Fenugreek leaves - 3 tbsp (fresh or sun-dried)-chopped
Yoghurt - 3 tbsp
Salt -To taste
Oil - 5 tbsp
For Garnishing
Green chillies - 1, slit
Ginger slivers - 2 tbsp

Method

1)Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan. Add the garam masala powder dissolved in 1 tbsp water and sauté for 5 seconds.
2)Add the onions and continue sautéing till they turn pink.
3)Add the ginger and garlic paste and continue frying till the onions are golden brown. Add in the turmeric and chilli powders and sauté for another 10 seconds.
4)Add to this the chicken and cook on high heat till it starts becoming pink (this will take approximately 4-5 minutes).
5)Then add 1 cup of water and salt. Cover and simmer till the chicken is cooked.
6)Add the tomato puree and cook for 2-3 minutes.
7)Now add in the fenugreek leaves and cook for another 4 minutes.
8)Finally, add the yoghurt and cook on medium heat for another 2-3 minutes.
9)Garnish with slit green chilles and ginger slivers.
