Creamy Butter Prawns
My meal for the night was very rich and delicious. I am about to share with you my recipe of creamy butter prawns that I had for dinner tonight. For seafood/prawn lovers out there, you may enjoy this dish, so carry on reading :)
You know how hard it is to get Large king prawns in England, so I?m really glad I managed to get black tiger prawns near my working place, however they are the frozen ones, and they cost me 1 weeks lunch allowance
I tend not to measure things accurately, I always estimate, so I?m sorry I can only give you an estimatation and tell you the ingredients, I won?t be able to tell you how many grams or how many spoons of ingredients I have added. Ok, you need king prawns ? the bigger the better, like I said with heads on, garlic, evaporated milk, small chillies (bird?s eye chillies as they call it here), curry leaves, butter, corn flour, sugar.
Recipe 1. Stir fry prawns with garlic for 1-2 minutes, just so it is sort of half cooked, orangey in colour, then remove to plate. 2. Then add butter, I used 2 large table spoon, heat it until melt in saucepan, then add a can of evaporated milk, then add curry leaves generously, I know it is hard to get curry leaves, it is ok to use the dried ones, if you can?t get the fresh ones. Then simmer it… 3. Now add sugar, and bit of salt to taste. This dish is meant to taste slightly sweet. Then towards the end, add your little chillies, I normally add 5, but I sort of sliced it a little, so that the spicyness sips out. 4. Mix some corn flour with water, and pour into saucepan to thicken the sauce a bit 5. Lastly, when taste is right, add the half cooked prawns back into the saucepan and bring to boil for 1-2 minutes. Do not overcook the prawns, you should know prawns are cooked easily and they tend to shrink when overcooked. So now it is ready to be served :) you can have this with rice like I normally do, of course one dish is not enough, stir fry some vegetables to make your meal complete, never forget your 5 a day (vegetables + fruits) I will let you know what this dish is best eaten with in tomorrow?s post :) stay tune related searches : Creamy
